Guidelines To Enter
- You must be a middle school student (Grades 6-8) and live in the USA or Puerto Rico.
- Don’t forget to check with your parent or guardian to get their permission to enter. If you’re under 13, your parent or guardian must fill out the entry form. If they have more questions, they can find all the details here.
- Before you enter – make sure you complete either the FutureSmart or SmartEconomics Course modules. You need to complete at least THREE modules. Yes, we check!
- Now – it’s time to start your essay. Apply your FutureSmart or SmartEconomics Course learnings to respond to your selected question. Plus, be creative/original and use proper grammar – these things are all important to the judges.
- Your essay must be 350-500 words, and the essay must be your own work (no sharing or borrowing a friend’s essay).
Deadlines
For the fall semester, essays must be submitted before midnight on Monday, January 15. Fall semester winners will be contacted the week of January 30.
For the spring semester, essays must be submitted before midnight on Monday, June 10. Spring semester winners will be contacted the week of June 25.
